Getting a Google Business Profile verified can be frustrating enough without having to work out where Google has hidden the support options.
Whether you are struggling with video verification, a failed submission, a verification method that simply will not work or a profile that appears to be stuck in review, Google’s Verification Status Tool can provide a route to additional support.
The tool does more than confirm whether your profile is verified. It can also direct you towards Google’s support workflow when verification is proving difficult.
If you are unsure of your current status, you can check your Google Business Profile verification status before going any further.
Getting Verification Help
Before starting, make sure you are signed in with the Google account that owns or manages the Business Profile.
There is little point in going through the process using an account that does not have access to the business you need help with.
The process is relatively straightforward:
- Open the Google Business Profile Verification Status Tool.
- Confirm the Google account associated with your Business Profile.
- Select the business experiencing verification problems.
- Review the verification status displayed by Google.
- If you are offered the option Do you still need support?, select Yes.
- Follow the available support link and continue through Google’s support workflow.
Depending on the issue, Google may ask you to identify the problem you are experiencing. For an unverified profile, this may include an option such as My Business Profile is not verified.
Continue through the questions and follow the available support route. You may be directed to a verification support form where you can provide additional information about the business.
The exact wording and available options can change, so do not be surprised if your screen looks slightly different.
Google Business Profile Verification Support Form
If Google’s support workflow directs you to a verification support form, this is your opportunity to explain the problem properly and provide evidence that the business is genuine.
The form may ask for business details, contact information, the nature of your verification problem and supporting documentation.
This is not the time to enter a vague explanation such as “Google won’t verify my business” and hope somebody at Google works out the rest.
Explain exactly what has happened.
For example, if your video verification has been rejected several times, explain whether Google provided a rejection reason, whether the upload failed or whether the video was submitted successfully but verification never completed.
If the issue is technical, say so. If the business has moved or changed its name, explain that too.
The more clearly you describe the actual problem, the easier it is for support to understand what needs investigating.

Verification Support for Service Area Businesses
Service Area Businesses (SABs) can face additional complications during verification, particularly when they operate from a residential address that is hidden from customers.
Think plumbers, electricians, mobile mechanics, cleaners and other businesses that travel to their customers rather than receiving customers at their business address.
Google still needs to establish that the business genuinely operates from the location provided, even though that address is not publicly displayed on the Business Profile.
When following the verification support process, Google may ask for the address originally supplied when the profile was created, together with the country and additional supporting information.
A hidden address does not mean Google does not need to verify the address.
For Service Area Businesses, the support form may request evidence relevant to the way the business operates.
If you operate from home, do not make the mistake of thinking that Google needs to see a shopfront or commercial office.
What Google needs is appropriate evidence that your business is genuine, operates from the location supplied and meets its eligibility requirements.
Get Your Business Evidence Together
Please, please, please take the opportunity to provide proper business evidence when Google asks for it.
I cannot stress this enough.
If you have spent days or weeks trying to get your Google Business Profile verified and finally reach a support form, do not waste the opportunity by submitting incomplete information.
Depending on the business and what Google requests, useful evidence may include:
- Business registration: Official documents showing the registered business name and relevant details.
- Business licence: Where applicable, a current licence showing the business information.
- Utility bills: Documents connecting the business name to its operating address, where accepted.
- Business premises: Photographs showing permanent signage, entrances, equipment or other relevant physical evidence.
- Service Area Businesses: Evidence of business equipment, branded vehicles, tools or materials used to serve customers.
- Website: A functioning business website displaying accurate contact details and information consistent with the Business Profile.
Not every document will be accepted for every verification issue. Follow the specific evidence requirements displayed by Google rather than uploading everything you happen to have.
Also, make sure your business name, address and other details are consistent across the documents you submit.
A website can help establish that the business exists, but it is not a substitute for official documentation when Google specifically requests it.
Video Verification Problems
Video verification remains a particular frustration for many businesses.
You can have a perfectly legitimate business and still struggle to complete the process because of technical problems, upload failures or evidence that Google considers insufficient.
Google may require you to demonstrate the business location, equipment, signage or proof that you are authorised to represent the business.
For Service Area Businesses, this may involve showing relevant equipment, vehicles and access to the operating location.
For businesses with customer-facing premises, it may involve permanent signage, the surrounding location and evidence of management access.
If Google has rejected a verification video, do not simply submit the same footage again without considering the reason.
Check that the video meets the requirements for your business type and that the information shown matches your Business Profile.
If the problem is an upload failure or another technical issue rather than insufficient evidence, make that clear when requesting support.
Before Contacting Google Support
There are a few things worth checking before you submit another support request.
First, make sure you are using the correct Google account and that you have access to the Business Profile concerned.
Next, check the current verification status. A profile that is still being reviewed is not necessarily experiencing the same problem as one that has failed verification.
Finally, make sure you are dealing with a verification issue rather than a suspended or disabled profile. These are different problems and may require different support processes.
If you are dealing with a suspension, you will generally need to follow the relevant appeal process rather than repeatedly requesting verification assistance.
Give Google Something to Work With
I appreciate that Google Business Profile verification can be incredibly frustrating, especially when you know your business is legitimate, and the process keeps failing.
But come on, people, you need to meet Google halfway.
If you finally reach a support form, provide accurate business information, explain the problem clearly and attach the evidence Google actually needs.
Simply telling Google that your business exists is not the same as demonstrating that it exists.
